Up until recently New York City taxi cab drivers were able to work as many hours as they wanted. Which from their end more hours meant more opportunity to make money. The average patron of this convenient mode of transportation does not realize that some of these taxi cab drivers could possibly have already been “cruising” for not just hours but, sometimes days on end. Which could lead to a multitude of potential problems. Sleepiness, forgetfulness, inaccuracy, irritability and just plain fatigue. So as a solution New York has put a cap on taxi cab driver’s hours. Maximum of 72 hours per week. Every driver deserves a “piece of the pie” or in this case the Big Apple. So even though the cabbies may be grumbling, you can rest assured you will find yourself experiencing a somewhat easier, more pleasant and efficient point A to point B. After the transition of course. Haha….everything has to slide into place. Happy travels!
