Cab strike in Rome, that lasts for 6 days, cripples transportation in Rome, Italy. The protestors marched through the streets in front of Italy’s parliament where they were met by riot police in a clash. The reason for the protest? Yet again, parliament gave unfair inroads to Uber while still forcing Cabbies to adhere to very strict & stringent regulations, of which Uber drivers, who essentially provide the exact same service, are exempt. Their problem and their argument is that the favoritism to Uber penalizes the long-standing Cab companies, harming them economically and undercutting their business by allowing 2 separate sets of rules for the same set of services.
